I know that freeBMD covers England and Wales, but is there anything similar for Scotland? Hopefully Bill |

Nope... IGI is the best for BM before 1875, but you've always got to double check all the info on there as there is some dodgy submitted info. There is ScotBMD, its a cert/info exchange. It can yeild great results though, i found a relation on there. In the end SP is good value. If you work it out you can get 5 certs on SP for your 30 credits (or £6) where as when getting one english/welsh cert you have to pay £7. If you google a bit then you'll find various sites with transcribed info on them, the ammount depends on the area and what you are looking for. Mhairi |
