Even on the 1841 census he would have been 26. Also I would like to find his parents...but how? What information is on Birth Certificates and Wedding Certificates in this time. Thankyou in advance. Stella X

I would start with familysearch.org

If he married after 1837, get his marriage cert, which will give you the name of his father and make your search easier. OC

You wont get any certs for events before 1837 unfortunately - its a case of parish records. If you get a marriage cert for him, that will give dad and you can then try to find his baptism. Have you checked the 1841 yet? At 26 he still may be at home - but you really need that marriage cert. If he had younger siblings they could be at home with mum and dad on there. If you find his baptism on the familysearch.org IGI then you can look for children baptised in same church with same parents on there.
