	Barbara Yes. Once an event is recorded by a Registrar, it stays for ever - it cannot be removed (but it can be amended, by reference number) However, as far as I know, marriage entries are not cross referenced to divorces, so the marriage entry stays in the register, unsullied! One rather unusual exception to this rule is if a marriage is ANNULLED - although the marriage entry remains in the register, it will be suppressed by the Registrar and you will be told that 'no such marriage exists' if you apply for the cert (because legally, it doesn't, unlike divorce) Clear as mud, eh?
