Hi Paul, My father joined the RAF in england shortly after the start of the war and was sent to Alabama America to learn to fly. For some reason they all had to 'enlist' in the USA army. Having learnt to fly he was posted back to Englad to the RAF. He used to joke he couldnt holiday in America as he would be arrested for being a deserter never having received the USA army discharge papers!! Regards, Audrey |

Hi Paul, I traced a GI abt 10 years ago, but i knew his home town, just rang the library there, told them my story and they were very helpful,They put an advert in the local paper and his cousin saw it and we went from there. Gill |

Ray was associated with Essex, Norfolk and London. My guess is that he was in the US Army Air Force (the US didn't have a separate air force at the time) and I'm afraid I know nothing more about him - so don't ask! I'm trying to trace him on a somewhat delicate matter, so if he's still alive I have no intention of directly approaching him or his family. |
