78 year old married a 17 year old in 1871???

i've not looked at the record but i have had a similar thing with a mother in law living with her daughter and son in law. the census had her listed as mother in law but age ..... (cant remember off hand) but when you look at the census you can see there is a line thought part of it but can read the age as ...... about 40yrs older than the transcribed version. |

There is this birth which would make more sense Philip Saul Year of Registration: 1850 Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar District: Kensington County: Greater London, London, Middlesex Volume: 3 Page: 383 and another one in 1855 in West Bromwich, but different area of course Gail. x |

Okay so i've just recently received the birth cert for my 2x great grandfather Phillip James Saul born 28/05/1872, his father was also called Phillip Saul and his Mother Harriet Elizabeth Saul. So I looked them up in the1871 census and according to that Phillip Saul(father) is 78 years old. Looking at the census I think it says 18. could someone please have a look and just put down your thoughts as to what you think it says? Cheers jenna. |
