Hi all, I am having a brain storm!!! If I want to order a copy b/c via the GRO, do I need the mother's first name? Or is the surname all I need....I think I just need the surname, but can someone reassure me please.!! Thank you. |

Is the certificate more than 50 years old, and do you know the GRO reference number? |

For a BC less than 50 years old you will need to know all of the details surname forename date of birth mother surname at the time of birth Mothers maiden name place of birth fathers forename fathers surname If you dont know all this you could try being sneaky with the local record office that holds the birth, but I very much doubt you will get away with it. |
