I think that is the right Thomas, just had a look on the 1861 census and all the kids he had! obviously Betsy is his second wife. On Richards marriage certificate a witness was Caroline Millership and she was his sister according to the census. Much appreciated Heather Ill have to send off for some certificates. Many many thanks. Yvonne

Hi Heather Sorry for the delay, I have Richard Millership's marriage certificate here, who is the son of Thomas (who Im looking for) Richard his son was married 1858 aged 28 at St Philips church in Birmingham and its says Father Thomas Millership (Miner) If Richard was 28 when he got married that means Richard was born in 1830. Yes I am guessing at Thomas' s birth date considering the year his son was born, do you think Thomas could have been born earlier? So they should be on the 1841 census. Thanks for the information its very much appreciated. Yvonne x

Millerchip is a very common variant of the name - have you tried that? Do you know if Richard had siblings? Are you just guessing at 1810 for Thomas birth year as that would make a young husband wouldnt it? Surprisingly, men were often older than now when they first married as they had to be able to afford to keep a wife and family. How do you know his place of birth? Have you seen this guy? Right town place, right age. 1851Male Where born: Oldbury, Shropshire, England Civil parish: Perry Barr County/Island: Staffordshire Country: England Thos Millaship 51 Betsy Millership 29 Elizabeth Millership 17
