Hi Marie I've got family from the old East Germany too, actually the Sudatenland (now in the Czech republic). The only info I have is what my German cousin has told me I haven't been able to find any websites and I think the census records may have been destroyed in the war. Have you been able to verify any of your records? Jeannie

Thanks Helen I forgot to put that in, it was late when I posted LOL any odd words, I can proably get my friend to translate or try putting them into Alta vista search and the Babelfish translator may help. Marie

If you click on the Union Jack in the top right corner of the home page, the German headings are translated into English.

www(.)igi-index(.)de/index(.)php given to me by a german teacher not sure how useful for whole of Germany as mine are the Old East Germany which does not seem that well covered. But there were still a huge number to look at, so you never know. Give it a try. Marie Kent
