Still not working for me! I'm going to ancestry, search E&W complete marriage images, entered 1861, entered JAS qtr, then it asks me to choose from the alphabet. Ho Hum,

No idea at all about grrom. All I know about is Mary Parkins born 1839 Deptford Kent (now London). She is with her mum Ann PERKINS on 1851 but not with Ann on the 61. Thanks

If you are tracing her forward from her birth then you should have her in 1861. Using her details less surname should give possibles in 1871. As far as the missing name on marriage records:- Leave name blank enter year/quarter/district go through all the men looking for a similar number and then check image.

Thanks for responding. I don't have full ancestry so can't look at 61 or 71 census. I have looked at the image but can't work out how to do the next bit for entries for that timeframe! off to have a play again Selena

check the original image to make sure the page number is right. then look up all entries for that year, quarter and volume. You may come across one entry which has had the page mistranscribed

I found this on freebmd Mary Parkins, Sept 1861, Greenwich 1d 899. Not enough men on page. I looked on the ancestry index but only got the surnames beginning with P. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Selena
