Hi, i am helping a friend out with searrching birth a birth record for his grandfather, the death cert is very straightforward and gives name as Daniel Alfred James George DOB 03/08/1928 this corresponds with marriage cert that he was 32 in 1960 Death registered 2004 district 4831C (glos) reg C69 ent 211 DOR 904 Now, the trouble starts when I am searching for a birth record, had started on ancestry and looked on the genealogist website also, I then went to findmypast and looked in the military births overseas and consular births overseas and I can find nothing, can anyone give me any tips please, I am not new to any of this but this one has me stumped thanks in Advance Julia |

Marie, many thanks for that, it is indeed possible that he switched names , I didnt even think of that, thanks so much, I will pass on to my friend, and of course welsh, my friend is welsh so that does tie in - the silly thing is that my own father switched his name around because he didnt like his first name. Thank you so much Julia |
