hiya, i have already found WILLIAM MURGATROYD b.1822 southowram halifax.(warp dresser) on the 1851 census married to a martha saville. think he died just before 1861 census as martha is remarried to a john tyas. so could you please look up 1841 for william murgatroyd. his father was called william and was a cord wainer (shoes).as i'm a little stuck.thanku sarah. |

Hello Elaine, Would you mind seeing if you can find a John Lindsay (born c 1829 Midlothian, scotland), he is listed on the 1841 scottish census aged 12 (Saddler's apprentice) with his mother Jean/Jane, brother James 15, sisters Margaret 9 and agnes 6, he moved down to england (not sure when so would like to see if he is lited on the 1851 census for England) i could not find either him or his family in scotland for 1851, in 1861 he is at 42 Randall st, Bromley (Shop Keeper) in 1875 when his daughter got married his occupation is down as a Saddler. In 1849 he married Elisabeth Barrie and their first child was born in 1850/51 (Scotland) James. Many Thanks Debbie |

Hi Kathlyn,Sorry have been having real problems tracing your John Roberts and co.what information do you have? is it possible he wasn't known as John I've even turned the names around all I did find was MARY ELLEN ROBERTS BORN JAN-MARCH 1870 LIVERPOOL if you have any other info let me know and I'll look again, Elaine OC&G here is your info 1841 Hampton Middlesex JOHN BEAUCHAMP 55 YRS DAIRYMAN born out of county SARAH WIFE 58 born out of county SARAH DAUGHTER 11 born Hampton Middlesex MARIA DAUGHTER 12 '' '' '' HENRY SON 10 ' ' ' 1851 Hampton Middlesex HENRY BEAUCHAMP 20 YRS SINGLE APPRENTICE(listed as son) born Hampton Middlesex living with Thomas Barnes 33 Farrier and wife Eliza 50 and her grown up children all with surname Dormor ........so it looks as if enumerator as usual made a mistake with Henrys position in house as age and place of birth all fit ...I also found 1851 Hampton Middlesex JOHN BEAUCHAMP WIDOWER 64YRS DAIRYMAN BORN CHERTSEY SURREY JANE DAUGHTER 33YRS HAMPTON MIDDLESEX MARY A DAUGHTER 26 '' '' MARIA DAUGHTER 22 ' '' THOMAS 7 YRS NEPHEW CHERTSEY SURREY hope this has been some help to you,p/s no occupations were shown for the girls Elaine |

Hi I have looked but cannot find the following in the 1871 census, so any help will be very much appreciated. John Roberts, Kirkby, Lancs, born 1843 his wife Mary, born Kirkby 1851. Their daughter Mary Ellen, born Kirkby or Liverpool c 1870. Thanks in advance Kathlyn |
