Can anyone throw any light on this. Two brothers one George H Parsons born 02.03.1913 Southwark 1d 201 MMN Hunt. second one George Henry Parsons born 10/01/1922 Southwark 1d 188 MMN Hunt. First brother died OND 1936 aged 23years Bromley 2a 828. Second brother is still alive. Anyone have any ideas on this as the second was born whilst the first was still alive so it wasn't a case of naming him after a lost child.

I haven't got the certs. but have spoken to the second brother who only knew his brother as Harry and had no idea his name was also George. The do have the same parents, there were many other children and no one was 4th child and no 2 was 8th

Hi My Grandmother was Ellen, registered as Elizabeth Ellen, she had a Sister Elizabeth born a few years later, both lived into their 80's. Could be a similar thing. Regards Linda

Oh dear Linda, they really knew how to confuse the issue back then. Not satisfied with naming siblings after dad/grandad.

I have two families that named two of their children the same name even though both lived, but they did have different middle names. I also asked the same question on here myself when I found the first set, and loads of people replied to say that they had the same.
