I have a friennd who has quite a complicated family history, she dosent actually have her birth certificate and dosent know what name she was registerd as, her DOB is the begining of October we did a search on ancestry and can ony find her name in the bith index for November. Do the indexes show for the DOB or the date of registration of the birth? |

Depends what year you are referring to but parents had up to 6 weeks to register. I think since the 80's (correct me if Im wrong people) the actual month of birth is shown but before that it was the quarter. |
