If I should apply for a copy of the church reg of a burial, what info would I get from it? Many thanks for the reply Sam, Now does anybody know if St Mary Whittall St Birmingham was a Church or the name of a municipal cemetary

It depends when. If they were buried in a graveyard attached to a church, you need a lookup in the parish records. You will usually get the name, address (often just the name of the village), age and possibly an occupation. If they were buried in a municipal cemetery, you get the name, age, occupation, address, date of death, date of burial, whether buried in consecrated groud or not (well at least you do in Stoke on Trent's burial registers!).
