I've received some information, on the Tips Board, that I would like to send via e-mail to a cousin. How do I do it? I'm virtually computer illiterate and a technophobe! M. Steer |

Highlight the information on the tips board, copy it, then create your email and paste what you've copied into the email. Easypeasy! |

Highlight the text using your mouse (click left button and drag mouse over text). Click on Edit and top of screen and then on Copy in drop down list. Go to you email, position mouse in body of email and click Edit and then Paste. |

Just highlight (go to the beginning of what you want to send, left click to the end) copy (Ctrl+C or right click on highlighted passage & then click Copy) and then paste (Ctrl+V or right click and click Paste). |

It doesn't work! I can highlight the text O.K. There's no edit at top of my page. I click on copy in the drop down menu but nothing happens. Think I'll have to stick with the old fashioned way - copy it by hand and then re-type it. M. Steer |

Go to the top of the page click on edit in the drop down menu click on select all and it will highlight all the text for you then right click on the highlighted text and another menu comes up click copy then open your email and right click on it and the menu comes up again click paste and all the text should appear in your email John |

Margaret, once you have the text highlighted, if you cannot see edit at the top of the page, if you right click in the highlighted area , it will bring up a menu that you can select copy on. |

There's something not right here! Let's start at the beginning. I'm on the Tips Board, I want to copy/save a particular message. There is no Edit at the top of the page (it's just the normal GR page). I highlight the text. I right click and get a drop down menu, I then click on copy BUT nothing happens! Sorry if I seem rude or ungrateful, I'm not. Just very frustrated M. Steer |

Margaret, you wont see anything until you go to post the information into your e-mail, it is just stored until you are ready to paste. When you open you new e-mail, right click anywhere and select paste from the menu. This will 'paste' the information you copied into your e-mail. Hope this helps |

Right when you click copy it does it but you will see nothing happening but if you now open your emai that you want to send and right click in the bit where you write your email the menu will come up again and then you click paste and the text will appear in your email John |

Forget about the Edit at the top of the Page. If you put the pointy bit on the top left edge of the text that you are trying to copy and the pointy bit will change to what looks like a capital (I) then press and hold down your left mouse clicker, then with the clicker held down drag your mouse down and to the right until it is on the right hand side of the text that you are copying, you will note that the text has been highlighted then let go of the clicker and move your mouse over the highlighted bit, then right click and a box will open, select copy, then go to where you want to paste the text and left click at the point that you want the text to start and left click then right click and another box will open, select Paste. Note, to copy and paste to a word document you must open word and minimise it before you copy the text that you want to paste Roy |

Got it, at last!!! Thank you all for your patience. One more question, though. What's happened to all those abortive copies I made - are they suspended somewhere in cyber space? Thanks again, M. Steer |

Yes the copies are overwriten every time you click copy when you shut down your computer the stuff thats held in the memory is wiped clean so even the copy you have now will disappear but it's nothing to worry about you won't lose anything John |
