Hi, I have borrowed some family photos and a couple of them have marks on them. One looks like Wheetobix stuck to it, and the other looks like dirty water/ milk (maybe the album fell in someone's bowl of cereal!) Does anyone know what's best to resore the surface of a photo and remove the dirt? Many thanks.

Thank you, Kath. So the suggestion is leave the original be, scan and repair the copy in Photoshop or equivalent. I shall have to restrain myself until I have the right editing software, then! J xx

I think that further into the tips on cleaning he says something about a clean cotton cloth and alcohol - but please don't do this until you've read the tips through. You need to look at the paragraph beginning:- 'Cleaning old negatives whether film or glass plates' and the paragraph after it. Kath. x
