I can't seem to add a mariage to the time line for my grandmother on Ancestry even though I have followed the prompts. I just end up back where I started and nothing has changed. |

Not sure where you are trying to add it but MyAncestry does not like the wife being given the same surname as her husband.. It prompts you but then allows you to continue and use the name. It used to stop you editing a person if the name was the same but not sure if they have fixed that - I have at least one example where a wife's maiden name was same as married name. I sometimes got around it by adding a hyphen on the end of the wife's name So husband John DOE, wife Jane DOE- MB |

I am trying where it has a link for add an event and it even goes as far as giving me a choice of spouse but it does not register on the timeline on her page. I have been trying for several days. The name of her spouse is showing up under family but I wanted to add the date, place etc of her marriage as I have the certificate, but I can't seem to make it happen. |

Hi Kerri, I've just added a marriage to a timeline on my anscestry tree. click on add a life event. Select marriage. Choose spouse and submit(orange button). Add date/place and submit(orange button again). New event will appear on timeline. Deb:) |

I still am unable to add any relationship events including that marriage to my grandmothers time line (or any members of my tree) on Ancestry. I sent a tecnical contact to Ancestry about it last week but had no reply. I follow all instructions and the very last page does not have an orange button on it and down the very bottom in the internet pane it says 'error on page'. I then have to follow the 'return to' button and nothing has changed!!!!! Argghhh!!!!!! Any ideas welcome!! |

I sent a 2nd email to Ancestry yesterday. Have officially decided that they are useless and I won't bother with that tree any further. |
