Trying to help a friend find her great grandfather. Could someone please look up a James SESSFORD born 1874 Liverpool on the 1891 census. We have him on the 1901 census married and as a child on the 1881 census but his father was away at the time. Hopefully the 1891 census will reveal his father as Thomas. Many thanks

1881 was only posted for reference as I did realise that you had the details. Sometimes it does help to look for children when doing a search. James and Thomasina can be found on the 1901 Maureen

I've seen the 1901 census, James is married by then, and I think his mother Mary had died and possibly his father had remarried, if he was a Thomas then we've found him on the 1901 census but just hoping that the 1891 will reveal his father a marine engineer at home and not away this time. The we will know if he is Thomas or not.

Thanks for trying, The Thomas on the 1901 census that we think it is was born in Manchester c1852. Looks like we've drawn a blank.

Tried a seach on findmypast but not much joy. 1891 they only suggest these three for Thomas using variation of the surname Sessford with age of 40 +/- 10 years. Places shown are registration districts and not places of birth CESSFORD, Thomas 33 M Easington CESSFORD, Thomas H 43 M Reading SEASFORD, Thomas 36 M Cockermouth No matches at all on Thomasina Maureen
