Almost certainly, GR uses the FTM format for their web based trees. Never use the word circa in a family history program. Carol www*genealogyprinters*com

Hi Ron, I wonder if that has a bearing on the problem I've had with transferring stuff onto FTM? (See thread 'Missed info on transferring tree') Bx

Circa is none standard gedcom and should not be used in family tree programs, if you import or export a gedcom file with the word circa in the date format it may not be recognised at all(depends on the program) FTM will not recognise the word circa and if you import a gedcom file with that word in it FTM will ignore the line altogether and no date will appear at all. Proper gedcom format is the word About or it can be shortened to Abt. . Ron . www*genealogyprinters*com

I've had the same problem, what I've done is unclick the box that asks Circa if 'unsure of year', then 'save changes' and then I always click 'save' on the top, just to make sure. Then press Ctrl & F5 together to load updated version. After a while and messing about this appears to work Kevin

I can recall seeing your thread on here regarding unwanted circa on your family tree. I am having the same trouble, have emailed GR twice but no help and tried removing them by clicking on top 'save' as someone suggested on here, many, many times but they always come back. Wondered if you had found an answer yet as it's soooo frustrating! Or if anyone else has any ideas? Pat
