I have a Miles Walton (c1828)(believe used Brown his mothers name as middle name) living Embleton sedgefield area Co Durham in 1841 age 12. with his parents William and Elizabeth and brothers William and John -farmers in the area for generations. But after that the whole family is accounted for throughout their lives but not a trace of him.Looked at all census on ancestry,BMD and durham records on line - not a sausage. There is another Miles Walton in teesdale but this is a completely different family. Any ideas where I can look or what might have happened? All input most welcome as this is driving me completely nuts!! Angela x

Hi Angela There is a death registered for a Miles Walton March Quarter 1851 but it is in Leeds 23 388. Unfortunately there is no age at death so difficult ot know if it ties in or not. regards Jo

thanks Jo - I doubt very much it was him as there seemed to be a family of Waltons in Leeds at that time and I doubt a young farmer from Durham would have reason to go to Leeds (no offence to Leeds!!) as there is no records at all I'm starting to think he emigrated ! or was beamed up! Best wishes Angela x
