Hi, does anyone know if there are offical records of the time served down the mines for these boys?

You do know they weren't actually boys don't you? These were conscripts who instead of being sent to fight in WWII were sent down the mines to keep the country going. Have you tried googling - there is a lot of information on them out there.

I just googled and there's a petition to 10 Downing St to recognise the Bevin Boys. You might want to try that.

Some of these 'boys' were not considered fit for military service, but I should think going down a mine you had to be fit. Some of these 'boys' were pacifists, and did not believe in fighting, they had the courage of their convictions. I knew a couple of these boys. Maureen
