Hi Lindy Hope it wasn't too painful or expensive! I don't think its collier/corporal but collier corporal (the line between the two occurs down the page). Maybe this is like a head collier (definition for collier in my answer above)

Lindy I thought it said Trolly Driver - again, something to do with the moving of coal down the pits. Those sort of train things they used to push about. Maureen

Lindy, to me it looks like Pony Driver - Under Ground - to do with helping the miners with pit ponies perhaps? A collier is a coal mine worker or coal barge worker so this would fit. Not sure about the corporal bit - was he ever in the forces?

Hi i wonder if someone could take a look on the 1901 census and let me know what they think this occupation is . it is for will s rhodes. also if someone could help me with his brother benji t rhodes it says collier/corporal anyone any idea what this is . see below in a mo for more info thanks linda x
