can anyone tell me how i find any records of war dead in the second world war. I know that we have the cwgc here but is there a site i can look on for the american airforce regards janet

Janet if they were stationed over here during the war then their death should be on the CWGC, click the nationality box at the bottom of the search page. Georgina.

thank you i still cant find him. I wondered if he got killed abroad if there was an american site i could look him up on, any ideas janet

Janet it might be worth googling 'american servicemen deaths ww2' there has to be a website somewhere. Georgina.

thank you found it it is american battle monuments commision lol he is still not there but thought it may be of interest to someone looking too best wishes and thank you for your help Janet

You will find lists of all US casualties on their National Archives website: www.archives.gov Just to confirm that the CWGC does not commemorate those who were serving in the US forces, even if based in the UK.
