How can I trace a birth before 1837?

If you are sure of her year of birth, you could email them asking for them to look it up and photocopy the baptism for you - ditto the marriage of the parents, assuming they are married and in same parish a bit further back! They will probably charge you no more than a fiver or so. Check it out with them.

Flintshire ones are at Flintshire Records Office and Denbighshire ones are at Denbighshire Records Office. Hi Cheryl, The Records Office in Holywell Flintshire may be able to help you. I had my grans birth cert from them and they are very helpful. Haven't got the post code to hand,but google for the correct address. Good Luck Brenda

Hi I think I have found out with the help of someone on Genes, that my Gt x 2 Grandmother Ruth Spencer (nee Lewis) who was born in Flintshire in 1822. Was in Denbighshire on the 1841 Census. Ruth was married by 1840 in Cheshire, and someone has found her and my Gr x 2 Grandfather on the 1841 Wales Census living in Denbighshire.Next Door on the same Census is a Edward and Catherine Lewis, Edward is listed as a Brick maker On Ruth's marriage certificate it states her father was called Edward. and he was a Brickmaker. How can I find out if Ruth parents were Edward and Catherine? Any suggestions Cheryl
