I am looking for a Janet Kerr born in Craig Mailen West Lothian around 1816/18. I have found her on 1851 census & 1871 census in Midlothian but cannot find her on 1861. Have to be careful as my Janet is unmarried & there is another Janet Kerr born around same time who is married & from same area. On 1851 census she is with my 3xgt grandad, William, 1871 census she is a servant. I want to know if my 3xgt grandad was alive or dead in 1861, need help to find her. Tried different variations of name Kerr. Thanks for looking, Hilary.

Perhaps you could give details of who may be with her in 1861 and where you found her in 51 and 71. If its GGFX3 you really want to find - what are his details?

Hi Heather & Maureen, yes that is the right Janet. I have tried a search for both addresses in 61 census. Even tried looking for her with the person who is head on 71 census. Can only assume she is mistranscribed somewhere. Trying to find her because if she is mistranscribed she may still have William with her. Long shot I know but can't find his death either. Hi Gillian, yes maybe. Will have a look. Funny because I looked under Ken as on Freecen whole family down as Ken instead of Kerr. Wonder what his job really was.Thanks Hilary.
