Have been looking at your other thread on the George family and see that the FreeReg site has been recommended - you can find your Thomas's baptism on it 18 Apr 1843 in St Peter's Wolverhampton. Also a possible marriage for Henry to Mary Carrall 14 Sep 1835 also in St Peter's. As to finding Ann, I have looked at the IGI and census and assume that you have taken the Ann daughter of John and Elisabeth as yours? I can find a burial for an Ann 25 Apr 1830 aged 20 months in St Giles' Willenhall which sounds as if it might well be that Ann. Taking what you know - Thomas son of Ann and Thomas 'nephew' of Henry then 1) Ann is Henry's sister so you need all Henry's born about 1805-1815 (to allow for inaccuracies on the census) and see if they had a sister, Ann 2) Ann is Henry's niece and Thomas his great nephew (I've seen this often enough to think it not unusual) so then you need Henry as ayoung member of a family with a sibling old enough to produce Ann 3) Thomas could be nephew or gt nephew to Henry's wife The only way to sort all that is to consult the parish registers for both Willenhall and Wolverhampton - find the births for the appropriate names and the deaths that way you can rule some out. Looks like a long job-:(

Many thanks for the replies-sorry for my late reply very busy at work. Henry was Ann's brother, Ann was the youngest of 7 children born to John and Elizabeth Phillips. Although I cannot find either Henry or Ann on the 1841 census, I have found Henry and wife mary, with 8yr old Thomas, on the 1851 census, and then on every census until his death. I have Thomas's birth cert and his mothers name is Ann Phillips, I have a sneaky feeling Thomas was'nt christened. I have looked for Anns death in childbirth but have'nt found it.

Lynda, can you give us any more info incl where you got your info? Could it be a different Thomas, and a different Phillips family? Co-incidence I know but ...

Lynda. the birth that I put on your other thread had the mother's name as Harriet. Is this a different one? This is from your other thread: Could this be his birth from the BVRI? Thomas Phillips christened, 19 Dec.1844, Willenhall, Staffordshire. Mother Harriet Phillips.

Do you know anything else about the family eg her fathers/mothers name? I am assuming that Henry is Ann's brother? I have tried to find Henry in 1841 but can't find him either! These dates put Ann aged 14 in 1841 and aged 16 when she had Thomas - could she have died giving birth? 1851 shows Henry aged 40 married to Mary.

I have another elusive lady in my family, Ann Phillips brn abt 1827 willenhall staffs. I have never been able to positively find Ann on the 1841 census, although I am 99% sure she did'nt leave willenhall. My only positive 'sighting' of her is in 1843 when she gives birth to her son Thomas, in willenhall. By 1851 Thomas is living with his uncle Henry, who he continues to live with, even after marriage, until Henrys death. Henry is down as Father on Thomas's marriage cert, when he married it was in Staffs registery office. In all of this Ann can not be found, did she die, or marry? How can I find out? I am off to work soon, so will check later-thanks
