I can't find the birth of my great great Grandfather William Wemyss Dobson. He is recorded as deaf and dumb on the census and sometimes said he was born in kirkcaldy or leven in Fife Scotland. His marriage certificate states parents unknown and by his age on that he looks like he was born around 1858. His last known residence was in Dundee, Scotland in 1901, shortly after that his family moved to Australia on 1912/13 I think. I can only find his wife's death (Isabella Dobson) in Australia along with his son William Dobson and daughter Jane Anne Cargill. I've trawled through the records at New Register House in Edinburgh and can't find a birth or death for him. Can anyone help? |
