Hello. I am finding it very hard to find any information about my g-grandfather, JOHN (VINCENT?) OWENS. He was born in 1887 and alway maintained that he was an orphan and born in Glasgow. He joined 2nd scottish rifles and survived ww1. He married Eva Partridge in 1915 in District of Halstead Essex.I have a copy of his marriage cert which gives a father name as John Owens - maybe mother died and dad couldn't cope alone?. I have tried Scottishpeople website and although they have a few john owens born in 1887 I cannot link a fathers name and cant trace him in any census. Would there be any orphan records anywhere for this time? If anyone has any suggestions i would be grateful. Thanks, Janine
