On the left hand side there's a link 'Import/Export Tree' you need to click that On the page that will then load, click 'Export Tree' I think once it's ready the file will be e-mailed to your address on FTM you should have an option that allows you to import a GEDCOM file (which will have just been e-mailed to you) |

You can do it first you need to export yor treeas a gedcom from genes. The link is on the left import/export tree. It will be emailed to you as an attachment. Save the attachment to the desktop on your computer. Right click the file and you should get the option / open with just select FTM and you should be there. Sue |

Is it possible to copy all the stuff in my tree (140 rellies!) from GR onto FTM '05 on my desktop, and if so could someone walk me through it in 'baby steps'? Cos I don't really have a clue what I'm doing! |

Wow, that was quick! Thanks Louise and Sue. It worked! Although it's seemed to load several times, so I'm not sure if each icon on my decktop refers to a different bit of my tree, or if I've just opened the download several times. But anyway, I've got it - thanks so much - just have to learn how to use it, now! B. |
