Gerri, It is far easier to update your FTM tree and then upload to GR or Tribal pages or Ancestry or wherever. At the end of the day, keep your main tree on someother software application (like FTM or PAF) and the upload to this site every few weeks, or whenever you update!

Keef!!!!! FTW format? thats techno isnt it! aagghhh! The thing is, I find it easy to put my info as I find it onto my GR tree but I never seem to have time to put the same onto my FTM....now i find my FTM is horribly out of date. Also....I admit to not finding my way around FTM just yet... Remember Keef & Gail...I'm old! and these things take time....lol I thought there would be an easy way to do it. Gerri xx Off to bed now...

Hi Gerri, if you import your tree from GR's Gedom into FTM, it will create its own file in FTW format, just remember to give it a different name such as GR tree so no confusion. Why do you wish to update the tree on GR on FTM? Why not update your FTM file and export that to GR? You can omit people that you do not wish to show in the FTM export gedcom.
