Stoke on Trent Archives has this - as long as you book the computer in advance, you can stay on as long as you like. Sam x

Unfortunately I don't think all libraries offer this service - my local library doesn't yet. (I shall have to ask them why not!)

You can also access Ancestry free at any LDS family history centre. My local library doesnt subscribe to Ancestry. OC

That's a tip worth looking into, thanks Margaret. If folks google 'ancestry library edition' it will bring up a list of participating Librarys too. Regards Ann

Nicky. We have not had computers in our branch library for long,so I have only just got to know about it (story of my life) Never seen it mentioned on any of the boards though. Margaret.

I have just found out that all Ancestry is free when you use a library computer. The librarian will give you the details. Free to join, you make an appointment to use it. If no-one is waiting, you would probably get longer. Hope this helps.

This has been available for quite a while, at the library i used to use before i subscribed to Ancestry they let you have a 2 hour time slot, booking in advance and 5p for each print, I think some of the larger libraries will give you unlimited time, depending on how busy they are, theyre often packed on wet rainy days i used to find. nicky
