Can anyone help? I cannot find my Gran's first husband on 1901 census. He is on 1881, 1891 but cannot find him at all on 1901. Was the boer war then? Is it likely he may be in service? if so how do I find out? His name is Clarence Mucklow (not many of them). I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks very much Netty

This looks like a good site for assessing your chances of finding any Boer War service - it sounds as if the rarity of the name will be a help, if the records have survived. freespace.virgin.net/anglers.rest/BWInfo.htm
