any idea how I search for BMD's prior to 1850 in Ireland - I know the county that is all or do I have to go there??

i was told parish records or familysearch*org (change * for .) records are few and far between as loads got destroyed during war and religion issues.

Dawn - this is pre-registration for the South so it will have to be church records. There are a few on line if you put 'Ireland' in the search box at the top of the tips board and press search you will find a lot of useful Irish sites. Also have you looked on the IGI on the Mormons site familysearch.org - I fould some of my Irish relations there (make sure it gives the reference for the batch numbers etc which means they come from original records - if it says 'submitted by a member of the LDS Church' it means that it is from someone elses records and a lot of them are incorrect.
