Like Heather I would have said died of disease as well this is one the sister sites of cwgc and it gives some abbreviations and their meanings. http://www.cwgc.org/education/imp_pop/roll_glen_ww2.htm |

I have found a relatve who died in 1915 in Malta when he was serving in the 5th Btn Highland Light Infantry. The death entry is on Scotlandspeople as he was from Glasgow. It shows his cause of death as 'D of D'. What does this mean? Is it died of disease? Other entries show 'K in A' which is obviously killed in action and 'D of W' which presumably is died of wounds. Is there anywhere elae that I can find out more about what happened to him? Any help would be great Jill in sunny Sussex |

At a wild guess it could be died of disease?? (I suppose just differentiating from death due to injuries) Have you checked the CWGC site for any info about him? |
