Hi I'm looking for James Hart and his wife Mary in 1891 census. What I have for censuses in between: 1881 Wales Census Jas. Hart Age: 14 b1867 Cardiff Relation: Son Occupation: Scholar Mother's name: Ellen Civil parish: Cardiff St Mary County: Glamorgan Street address: 4 Duffryn Street Registration district: Cardiff Sub-registration district: Cardiff ED, institution, or vessel: 16 Household Members: Catherine Hart 6 Ellen Hart 35 Ellen Hart 9 Jas. Hart 14 Jas. White 36 1901 Wales Census James Hart Age: 34 b1867 Cardiff, Glamorgan Relation: Head Occupation: Coal Trimmer Spouse's name: Mary Civil parish: Roath Ecclesiastical parish: Roath St Saviour County: Glamorgan Street address: 74 Railway Vw, Splott. Registration district: Cardiff Sub-registration district: East Cardiff ED, institution, or vessel: 23 Household schedule number: 257 Household Members: Catherine Hart 9 James Hart 34 Julia Hart 12 Mary Hart 36 Mary E Hart 13 Theresa Hart 5 Winifred Hart 3 James Hart married Mary Driscoll in 1886 and he was living at 5 Prince Leopold St, Roath. Hi Scarlet - thanks for helping. Yes the family originate on both sides way back from Ireland. I'm talking early 1800s. Several generations were born in Cardiff since. Sorry - appreciate you need birth place to look up...it's me age! Liz |

Hi Scarlet I have the birth cert for Mary Ellen Hart born Apr 1887. At that time they were living at 33 Davies St, St Mary, Cardiff. Fa, James, was a coal trimmer. Realised earlier today that I hadn't sent for a marriage cert in 1866 for James's parents...been too busy on a friend's tree which has been easier. So sent off for that now. Don't worry too much if you can't find them in 1891. I don't think they were there. I checked Engl. census but not there either. As I know I've got the right family, I will probably not get Julia's birth cert. Thanks for suggesting it. Nice full tummy now...Thanks again. Liz |
