Hello! I am trying to trace my grandmother's mother and need to get hold of her marriage certificate to see who her parents are. how would i go about getting a copy of of the marriage certificate? and what information will I need to provide? is there a web site i can get them through or a central place to write to or do you need to apply directly to the parish? they were married in 1914 in Islington, don't know if this makes any difference. any help people can offer will be greatly appreciated! You can look on Ancestry for the marriage then use the reference number to buy the cert, all this can be done online http://www.ancestry.*co.*uk/ remove * from address the buy the cert http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ the marriage cert will only give her fathers name and occupation, you need her birth cert to find her mothers details Roy |
