Don't give up! I have been driving myself mad from Christmas till now trying to find my great-uncle William. His wife died in the early 1950s and as my mum has been ringing round old relatives, a conflicting picture emerged. Mum thought he died before his wife, but my mum's cousin said he was left money by his sister-in-law. Having found that said sister in law died in 1971 it suddenly occurred that he had to have been living at the time to be left the money. So I spent last night trawling the deaths index and just when I was about to give up, there he is! Actually died in 1978. I think there are two morals to the story. Don't give up looking and don't take your relatives' words for things. |

My brother died some years ago - an Uncle died recently and he'd left my brother money - it was just that he 'd not changed the will - in your case it worked but just because someone is left money/goods/chattles , it doesnt mean nessesarily that they are still alive Scarlett |
