Hi Clare. Will do some checking for you, unless someone else finds your James first. Will check shipping ( incoming ) to see if we can track him down. ( Which Port he sailed to ) The main problem if any, will be the fact that if he came alone, and whoever filled out the death cert. They may not have known James parents names. If i find something, i shall get back to you. If i cannot, i will check with freinds from other States in Oz. Each State /Territory carries there own individual BDM index's/records. Getting late in the evening over here now. Cheers. Tony Oz |

Hi Clare.Do you have the parents names of your James LAWRENCE that died in Australia c.1929 It was mandatory ( if known ) to add the parents given names and surnames to Australian Birth and Death index's. In the state of Victoria alone, there were 46 James Lawrence deaths from 1920 to 1985.....Four between 1925 and 1932 Cheers. Tony Oz ( Anthony Hull ) |

You can search the deaths on this website, click on the Family History section in the sidebar. http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/ This is for NSW which is the Sydney area and its surrounds only. Cheers, Horatia |

My Great Grandfather James Lawrence died in Australia on 30/03/1929. As far as my father is aware he went out there working as Bootmaker. His wife and children remained in England. According to my grandmother's diary he died in Australia but doesn't state where. Any Ideas ?? |
