Each county has it's own number ;- 1837-1851 Roman Numerals 1852 onwards ordinary numbers eg: Rutland was XV and then 7a The GENUKI site has all this information about GRO Registartion Districts. |

Are you meaning the volume numbers on the GRO lists? Each registration district had to submit copies of the registers of events so a volume in one area will have no link with the volume from another area. Gwyn |

Please can anyone tell me, if the vol record relates or connects, if your searching and keep coming across ths same vol with different names and areas, thanks |
