Is there an 1871 census for Scotland? I am trying to find a family who may have been there at the time and I cannot find them on the English census.See below. |

SEWELL Daur Female 2 Gateshead, Durham, England John SEWELL Son Male 11 m Lambeth, Surrey, England William MAGUIRE Visitor U Male 23 Gateshead, Durham, England Stone Mason William FLYNN Visitor U Male 23 Newcastle On Tyne, Northumberland, England Stone Mason As you can see the eldest child was born in Scotland and the 2nd child may have been born after the 1871 census. Have you tried www.scotlandspeople(.)gov(.)uk? You have to buy credits to use the site but you can see the actual entries and save or print off the information you need. I use this site a lot as all my ancestors are scottish. Remove the brackets from the web address. Jill |
