Hi I've been looking on and off for ages for Ann Merrick (nee Brown) in 1901. She was born about 1829 in Curdworth, Warwickshire. In 1853 she married Thomas Merrick, but he died in 1880, and there is no evidence that she remarried. I have her in 1881 and 1891 as a widow, living with her children in Stoke Street, Birmingham (ward of St Thomas). Her children are Mary,born abt 1854, Thomas William, born abt 1854, Joseph, born abt 1864, John H, born abt 1862 and another John (don't understand why she named 2 sons John, but they are both on the 1871 census) born abt 1868. I think I have found a death for her in 1911 aged 82 in Birmingham, so I would expect her to be on the 1901 census. Can anyone help, please? Mandy

Do you have the address at which she died please? does it give any indication that she remained in the family home after her husbands death , I suppose is what I mean. what is the RG for 1891 for ref please

Only flaw in mine is that I cant see that she had a daughter Ann! Did she?

Erm, I don't think I've mentioned a daughter called Ann. She had a daughter called Mary. The mother was called Ann. Sorry if there's any confusion - I'm sometimes not very good at explaining things. LOL Mandy X
