Hi there, trying to find my great gran and have just found out that she visted her daughter in the US. Then just after she returned to the UK she died. Is there any way I can find when she went to the US? Thanks, Janie

US base records are held at Ellis Island and Castle Gardens. UK base records are on Find my Past.

If it was between the years 1892-1924 try the Ellis Island site. It's free to use but you need to register. Just google 'ellis island'. It's the first one that comes up. Good luck. Margaret

Ancestry*com has some passenger lists up to 1957, inc sea and air, but you either need US or world subscription or pay as you go credits.

Hi sorry I should've added before, it would've been about 1945-1960.

Hi Bel, that'd be great thank you! Her name is Miriam Dutton and she definitely went by sea. Anytime between 1945 -1960 but I have found a death in 1960 which is possibly her, so would suggest starting with 1960 and going backwards. Thanks so much and let me know if there's anything you need to know for the search. Thanks again, Janie
