can anyone tell me how i can find family members after the 1901 census, when all i have are names and dates of birth but dont know were they were born apart from say london or norfolk, and they are big places. whre and who they married and livedthank you frances |

from i think september 1911 mothers maiden names were added to the birth index, so you could use her maiden name to refine your search Roy |

Finding who and when they married is easy.....if a slow process. Just register with Ancestry and start trawling through the records. They are all free on the site. Remember that after about 1911, there are no transcribed records.....you have to go to the FULL records, and view every image, quarter by quarter. The certs (£7.00 each from the GRO) will tell you their place of residence at the time, but to find anything else, you may have difficulty, as Electoral Rolls for those years are searched by address. thanks for the help yes i have a sister in her late seventies, mum and dad never talk about their families. mum always said they are not worth knowing. i must have cousins some where? i honestly dont know. cannt even get my g/mothers birth cert, 2 weds one death she wasnt born were she said, and the one i did follow didnt match up in 1901 frances |
