Not receiving emails!

It's obvious that I am not alone ..... but I hope you have contacted Support and complained about it, otherwise nothing will be done to sort the problem out. It's very strange that some people are having no problems, but others are ..... Janet

Hi all, I too have not received an email from genes for almost a year now. No newsletter, no contact notifications, no hot matches either. And Ive checked all the boxes in my a/c, not changed my email, Checked spam, and checked Norton anti virus blocking. All is fine. Ah well. Thats Genes for ya. I did notice a while back some other people were having same prob as me, and funnily enough we were all in Australia.....maybe Genes mail takes forever to get to OZ just like snail mail...LOL! Thanks for the thoughts Tracy, but that's not it. I get all the other emails from Genes OK, and I used to get notification emails too. I've had private emails from several other people who are experiencing the same, or similar problems with emails from Genes. If you are having problems too, please report it to Support, so that they can see the extent of the problem. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on what could be going wrong. Janet

It could be your ISP blocking them. Mine did, so I changed to a hotmail account. Now they all come through ok.

Hi Janet, It is not just you not getting the e-mails. It has happened to me a couple of times during the week. I opened one e-mail then went into messages and there were 2 sitting there that had not appeared on my list of received e-mails.

Yes, Shirley - that's what my Bulk folder is, and I always check it before I empty it. Anyway, as I said before, I receive all the other emails OK, and they all go to the same email address. Looks as if it could only be me that's having the problem!

have you checked to see if they are going into your spam mail or deleted box

I cannot see a option not to receive notification of PMs Email preferences Send Password in confirmation email Do you wish to be notified by a hot matches or new names email when another member enters a family name that already exists in your tree? Do you wish recieve our occasional Genes Reunited newsletter?

I've contacted Support about this, and have asked them to investigate, but I wondered if anyone else is having the same problem. I'm not receiving emails when someone sends me a message through Genes Reunited. I do not log into GR every day, and it's sometimes a few weeks between visits to the site. Consequently, some people may think I am extremely rude for not replying to their emails sooner. I receive all the other emails from GR - hot matches, newsletters, etc., it's just that I'm not receiving the emails telling me I have a message. The emails are not going into my bulk folder, because I always check the contents of my bulk folder before I empty it. Am I alone?
