Its 24 theres a mark over the age that looks like a back to front 3 but the original is def 24. so 23/24!! shirley |

Wales 1901 census. John Shugar abt 1877 Head age 24 years. Dora Shugar abt 1899 Wife age 2 years. Living at Llwynypia,St Andrew,Glamorgan,Wales Am i reading this right?Wife age 2 years,this must be a mistake. |

Hmm...just had another look at it. You can definitely see that 24 has been written but there is a squiggly mark over part of the 4. Maybe the enumerator tried to scribble a bit of the 4 off so that it looked more like 21?? (perhaps she was 21 and he'd made a mistake and put 24 at first?) Either way, she's definitely not 2 yrs LOL. You do see some funny things being transcribed, eh? |

It's been transcribed incorrectly. Her age is 24, same as his! |
