Have you done a virus scan BettyBoo? Sometimes virus's can cause disconnection. I would also get rid of cookies + Temp Internet files. It might just do the trick. Does Orange have an online live chat? I know AOL does + it's quite useful at times, although its not much use if you can't stay online long enough to contact them is it! Regards Ann

Hi everyone, Thanks for all your replies, I have tried everything that you have all suggested, still not working properly. Also Jean I have tried what you said too, still keeps disconnecting. I think I will have to phone Orange my ISP and get this sorted out its driving me round the bend. I connect to Orange when I open up the computer then I try to go on the internet and it comes up NO CONNECTION, I click to connect and it does. I then get onto the internet and have to open a link, nothing happens, message comes up NO CONNECTION, again I click on the internet, it works then two minutes later I try to open something again or add a message on GR, I have to connect to the internet again. Jean have check it is on default connection too. What a pain, every two minutes even to send an e-mail it disconnects. Betty

Hi Ann, Yes I have AVG and run this every day it says no virus. I think somehow its just disconnecting from the internet for some reason, don't know why though. So strange as this just started happening and everything else is ok. Betty

Hi Betty :):) I have heard of one or two who seem to have similar problems and not as yet found a cure sorry all are with orange so possibly their end and they are not saying what the problem is. One thing you might try though in between times is this. Go to Tools.. Internet Options and Advanced.. Scroll down and look for Browsers. Look to see if Automatically check for internet explorer updates is ticked. If so try unticking it.Click Apply and Ok. If you do have any problems simply go back and change it back. Sometimes this being ticked can cause messages saying no internet connection to when the computer searches for updates. Colin :):)

Since I upgraded to IE7, I often get a message telling me I have no connection. I completely ignore it and just carry on.(The connection is fine). I am on Broadband, but IE7 throws up a page telling me to do a dial up connection - I ignore it. I am with Homecall,on a budget package, and somewhere buried in the small print it says that at busy times, frequent users may be cut off to make way for non-frequent users. OC

A contact in the Brora area was having lots of problems with Wanadoo/Orange as you describe. It turned out to be the fault of BT though we didn't expect that due to Orange's track record. Wanadoo/Orange only chased BT when she asked for a MAC to go to another ISP a few days ago.
