It is an internet browser. You use it instead of Internet Explorer. I use it all the time and find it more stable and easier to use than IE as well. |

I didn't know, either. It seems it is a well-rated alternative to Microsoft's Internet Explorer see news.bbc.co.uk /1/hi/technology/3993959 |

Hi, Yes, it is good and far more secure than IE. Unfortunately, there are a few sites which will only allow a search if you are connected with IE. Bernie |

Once you have used Firefox for a while you wont want to go back to IE, trust me. You can't delete IE as it is fundamental to a few other MS programs. so it doesn't need re-installing if you try firefox. Set up both on your desktop and compare the two. |

Mozilla has gained a massive following due in part to its increased security relative to Internet Explorer. This is because fewer virus writers/hackers etc target it because it accounts for a much smaller user base - exactly the same reason for fewer hackers targeting Apple Macs as opposed to PCs. Personally I like it because it can be run from a USB memory stick which means I carry my favourites (and surfing history) around with me. |
