Can anyone help me to make sense of this.I have identified my Gt grandparents as Henry Williams and Jessie Williams nee Wallace.someone on the tips board helped me out by telling me my GT GT grandparents were Henry Williams (born about 1813 in west Derby Liverpool) and Eliza (born about 1815 I have verified this on the 1851 census But I don't seem to be able to really verify her maiden name (Burrows) and I need to, before I send off for a marriage cert. Can anyone help me on this, also what was his fathers name.Any help would be greatly appreciated Regards Paul

When was GGF Henry born - after 1837? In which case to get his mums maiden name hopefully he was registered and you can buy his birth cert. When you say what was his fathers name - can you make that a bit clearer please - who do you mean? Henry, the GGFx2? Where were they in 1851 when he was married to Eliza?. Is this it in Liverpool? Dorothy Williams 13 Eliza Williams 36 Henry Williams 38 Henry Williams 2 Mary Williams 6 Well, I was hoping you meant you could find GGFx2 Henry with his parents for dads name but looks like he has been married for 3 years at least in 1841 - though there is a big gap between thos kids isnt there - wonder if Eliza is a second wife? Or may be a number of kids died?

If you get the birth cert of one of their children, it will have her maiden name on it. This of course means you will have to spend £14, not £7, so you might just like to order a likely looking marriage cert and specify her name must be Burroughs - but of course, you won't get it if her name wasn't Burroughs! So - get the BC of one of her children first, I would. OC

According to the IGI the above couple had at least 2 children, do they match your family?? 1. Dorothy Williams - International Genealogical Index Gender: Female Christening: 11 DEC 1837 St Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England 2. Thomas Williams - International Genealogical Index Gender: Male Christening: 03 MAY 1836 St Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England Georgina.

If that date is correct for GGFx2 marriage you wont be able to get a marriage cert for them Paul - its prior to registration in 1837.

Vikki, it would have been better to have started a thread of your own rather than tack on to a 7 year old research thread.

But as you have......have a look through your contacts and see if the tree owner is there. If not, it might be a computer glitch as has happened to a various members over the years.

Are you able to reply to the person to ask if they did give you access?

If you aren't able to, then forward the notification email to
[email protected]

In case you didn't know - if you hover the cursor over where it says messages (at the top) you'll get a drop down menu. Click on "my contacts". You'll see a list of names. Next to the name of the person who has shared their tree with you it should say "view". Click on that. If that doesn't work try contacting GR as Detective suggested. Good luck. :-)
