My g grandfather Charles Ibbott was born in Warboys, Hunts in1865. He married my g grandmother Emma Whitsey in1887,(Warboys) (have cert). The story in the family is that they broke up and all the family money went with him. One of their sons was killed in WW1 & is recorded as the son of Emma Ibbott, no mention of father. Emma Ibbott died in 1935 (cert states wife of Charles). I can't find any trace of him after 1901 census. Sent for death cert of a Charles Ibbott of Bedford, but it was not him. Did he emigrate and how could I find him? If anyone can help me move forward with this I would appreciate it.

Hi Brenda This is brilliant, I have been looking for weeks, if this is him he left a wife and young family! On the 1901 census he calls himself Chas rather than Charles. Interestingly, his two younger sons emigrated to Australia in the 1920s - did they follow their father? Many thanks for your help. Chris
