I'm trying to find a Selena Lewis (I think married name) on the 1881 and 1901 census without much look. She was born in abt 1850 in St Albans and in 1891 she was living in St Albans with her 4 children David, Horace, William and Florence. I can not find her or David (abt 1876) or Florence (abt 1884) on the 1901 census. Also I can not seem to find the father of these children. The oldest child William was born in abt 1873 so I presume she was married before this. Any Help would be fantastic! Thank you Vicky X

Thank you for all your help. It does look likely that these are the same people, although if the children are illigitimate it will make it harder to establish the father. I will try to get a copy of my gt grandfathers (david lewis) birth cert. and hopefully this will have the father's name on it. Thanks again Vicky

Unless the father was present when the birth was registered, his name will not be on the cert. Reg
